Qualifications: General Chemistry II lecture has a strong focus on chemical kinetics, thermodynamics, electrochemistry, and some transition metal chemistry, intended for students who are majoring in physical, environmental, or biological sciences.
This course will be taught in person on the Moraga campus during the 2026 Spring term on Monday, Wednesday, Friday from 10:40 - 11:45 am.
In addition to teaching, the instructor is expected to hold regular office hours (a minimum of one hour per week) in order to provide students with support outside of the classroom.
To ensure consistency between sections of this multi-section course, instructors will faithfully implement the syllabus, experiments, laboratory activities, assessments, and/or grading standards provided by the Lab Coordinator or Department Chair.
The successful candidate will hold an advanced degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related field; and undergraduate teaching experience in chemistry or any subfield of chemistry (CV, sample syllabus). Preference will be given to those who have previously taught the course or CHEM 10.
Candidates must reside in California.
The salary range for this position is $6,208 - $8,590 (2.5 units) and is covered by the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the College and SEIU, Local 1021, available here.
