Qualifications: Hydrology and its corresponding lab provides an introduction to the key processes (e.g. evaporation, precipitation, infiltration, runoff) of the hydrological cycle. This course focuses on freshwater flow on and near the ground, within different ecological and environments such as: forests, wetlands and urban areas. Topics related to watershed management, water resource policy and decision-making will also be explored.

This lecture and laboratory will be taught on the Moraga campus in person during the 2026 Spring term:

Lecture: Monday, Wednesday & Friday from 10:40 - 11:45 am (4 units)

Laboratory: Wednesday 1:30 - 4:30 pm (2.5 units)

In addition to teaching, the instructor is expected to hold regular virtual office hours (a minimum of one hour per week) in order to provide students with support outside of the classroom.

Candidates must have a Master's or Ph.D. preferred in a relevant area of Environmental or Earth Science discipline and a successful record of teaching experience in a related field at the undergraduate level. Preference will be given to those who have previously taught the lecture or EES 100 (prior to Carnegie conversion).

Candidates must reside in California.

The salary range for this position is $16,135 - $22,334 (6.5 units) and is covered by the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the College and SEIU, Local 1021, available here.
