Adjunct Faculty, Aviation Mechanics (Academic Year 2026 - 2027)
This position requires a passion for effective teaching and advising of diverse students, excellent oral and written communication skills, and a demonstrated commitment to the comprehensive state college mission. This position will assist with curriculum updates; the successful candidate will teach occupational skills and knowledge to provide students with the competence to become skilled in the Aviation Mechanics field and to secure a job in their new career; demonstrate occupational materials, tools, equipment, and processes using standard or instructor-prepared instructional aides; instruct students in the appropriate safety precautions and the safe operation and use of tools and equipment; control the storage, maintenance, and use of materials and property to prevent loss or abuse; and establish and maintain standards of student conduct to provide an orderly, safe, and productive environment in an activity-type classroom. Reports to the Dean, Workforce Education.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Earned certificates in the areas of Airframe and Power Plant Mechanics, FAA licenses in Aviation Airframe Mechanics and Aviation Powerplant Mechanics, and at least six years of full-time experience or equivalent part-time experience. Prior teaching experience is preferred not required.
