Adjunct Faculty, College of Education and Human Development
About the Position
The Teaching and Learning Unit, the Inclusive Early Childhood Education (IECE) program, and the Secondary Education (SEED) program in the George Mason University College of Education and Human Development invite applications from highly qualified adjunct faculty to teach an array of undergraduate and graduate courses.
Responsibilities
Instructors would work in the Inclusive Early Childhood Education program or Secondary Education program, to teach coursework that is offered in a variety of learning formats, including online, hybrid, and face-to-face, with day and evening schedules (hybrid or in-person class sessions will be held on the George Mason Fairfax campus).
Inclusive Early Childhood Education courses include:
- “Developmental Pathways of Diverse Learners, Birth to Adolescence”
- “Foundations of Language and Literacy for Diverse Young Learners, Birth-Age 5”
- and others as listed (some require expertise in Early Childhood Special Education Birth-Age 5)
Secondary Education courses include:
- “Teaching English in the Secondary School”
- “Teaching History/Social Science in the Secondary School”
- and others
Required Qualifications
- PhD/EdD in Education or a related field for graduate level instruction
- Master’s in Education or a related field for undergraduate level instruction
- Content and/or professional expertise that matches courses in the SEED or IECE program
Preferred Qualifications
- University teaching experience
- Experience with online teaching
- Knowledge of Canvas or other learning management systems
