Vincennes University Jasper hires adjunct faculty each semester on an as-needed basis. The College of Social Science is accepting applications for adjunct instructors for courses in:

• ECON 201- Microeconomics
• Psychology

This position is responsible for:

• Work under the direction of the Social Science Academic Area Coordinator
• Prepare and teach undergraduate courses (day and night courses may be offered)
• Develop syllabi for course and ensure course content meets accreditation requirements
• Provide timely and meaningful feedback to students on progress in course
• Take attendance at the beginning of each class
• Update student grades in the gradebook on a regular basis
• Learning and utilizing technology, including Blackboard online course management system
• Engage with students outside the classroom through email and in-person during office hours
• Utilize online tools to help university monitor student progress across courses
• Complete a yearly self-evaluation with the goal of improving and progressing as an educator

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Extensive, contemporary knowledge of related field
• Practical application of pedagogical tools and theory
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to maintain confidential information

Minimum qualifications:

• Master's degree with GH in Economics; or master’s degree with 18 GH in Economics; or master’s degree with 18 GH in Economics related work.
• Master's degree in Psychology; or Master's degree with 18 credits in Psychology; or Master's degree with 18 credits in Psychology-related work.

Physical Demands:

Normal physical demands for successful work in a typical classroom environment. Ability to sit or stand for extended periods. Ability to operate and deliver teaching/learning materials.
