Position Summary
La Salle University's Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders, with a CAA-accredited MS program in Speech-Language Pathology, seeks an adjunct professor. Adjunct teaching opportunities may include undergraduate and graduate courses across the curriculum and graduate student clinical supervision. Given our emphasis on teaching, collaboration, and clinical training, candidates will have an understanding of evidence-based practice, community-based learning, team approaches to service delivery, and integration of teaching and clinical practice. At this time, we have a specific opening for a clinical supervisor in the La Salle University Speech-Language-Hearing Community Clinics (LSU-SLHCC) to be taught in Fall 2023.
Essential Duties
- Provide guidance and clinical supervision for approximately 7 first-year graduate students, each treating one client in the LSU-SLHCC.
- Use Learning Management System (Canvas) to post course content and grades.
- Maintains availability to meet with students concerning the course.
- Be present on campus for ½ day per week for 16 weeks to supervise and meet with students.
Required Qualifications
- Earned Master's degree (speech-language pathology)
- Must have CCC-SLP (Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology) granted by the American-Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA)
- Must hold PA licensure as a speech-language pathologist or audiologist
- Must have completed a minimum of two years of practice experience post-certification (CCC-SLP)
- Must have earned (or are willing to earn) at least two hours of professional development post-certification (one-time requirement) in the area of supervision and/or clinical instruction
- Knowledge of and commitment to the mission of La Salle University
Physical Requirements and/or Unusual Work Hours
Evening and weekend work may be necessary when teaching graduate courses. Some clinical courses require travel to external sites.
