Position: Adjunct Faculty, Dental Hygiene

Work Schedule, Hours per week: Monday-Thursday, 7:45 AM- 5:30 PM, may also include Friday labs

Starting Salary Range: $50.67 per hour

Position Summary: This position is for a part-time adjunct clinical dental hygiene instructor. The adjunct clinical faculty will be assigned to instruct students in Clinical Dental Hygiene while they provide dental hygiene treatment in the clinic. The position may also include Friday labs (radiology, local anesthesia and/or nitrous oxide sedation labs). The clinical position need varies Monday -Thursdays from 7:45 am to 5:30 pm. The contract pay is for a nine (9) hour day that includes 8.5 hours of clinical teaching time and a 30 minute lunch time calibration. Contract pay for Friday labs will be based on the number of hours worked. This position could also potentially serve as a substitute when other part-time or full-time faculty are unable to work and/or there is an emergency need to fill.

Required Qualifications:

• Associate Degree in Dental Hygiene.
• 3 years dental hygiene clinical practice experience.
• Eligibility for Dental Hygiene Licensure in the State of Kansas.
• Local Anesthesia Certificate.
• Nitrous Oxide Certificate.
• Current CPR Certification (BLS with AED).

• Ability to work well with others in a team based clinical setting.
• Ability to adhere to the JCCC Dental Hygiene Educational Policies and Procedures.
• Ability to prepare as needed outside of assigned work hours and prior to clinic days.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree.
• Two (2) years clinical teaching experience.
