Simmons University School of Social Work (SSW) is now accepting applications to increase our dynamic group of adjunct instructors. We are specifically recruiting adjunct instructors who are interested in teaching courses in the on-ground platform of our MSW program, located on the Simmons campus in Boston. The MSW program offers a variety of clinical and macro courses three semesters per year: Fall and Spring, which are each 14 sessions of 2 hours and 50 minutes, and Summer, which is condensed into 9 sessions of 3 hours and 50 minutes. Courses are offered Monday - Thursday during the day and evenings, as well as Friday and Saturday during the day.
Simmons University is a small, highly collegial and dynamic university located in the heart of Boston's world-renowned Longwood Medical Area. Simmons is comprised of an undergraduate liberal arts education program for women and those who identify as women plus professional graduate schools with master's and doctoral programs for all genders, presenting unique and rich opportunities for interdisciplinary research and collaboration. The Simmons School of Social Work offers degrees at the Bachelor's, Master's, and Doctoral levels (BSW, MSW, DSW, PhD). Our MSW Program is offered via robust on-ground and online platforms. Areas of current SSW faculty expertise include: dynamics of diversity, family and intimate partner violence, immigration, health and health policy, health disparities, aging, behavioral health, substance use, suicidality, child maltreatment, social policy, and innovations in social work education.
Qualifications
- A master's degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited CSWE program is required (except for teaching research and evaluation courses).
- A minimum of 5 years post-MSW experience is required.
- Highest level of clinical licensure (e.g., LICSW in Massachusetts) is required to teach clinical courses.
- Prior or current experience teaching in the classroom or training social workers is required.
- Doctoral degree is preferred but not required.

Compensation:
$6,395 (per course)
This is non-benefits eligible position.
Compensation for adjunct faculty is established at a set rate per course and does not vary based on experience, education, or other factors.
