Adjunct Faculty - Graduate Psychology
The Graduate Program in Clinical Psychology of the Department of Psychology at Bellarmine University in Louisville, KY is seeking part-time instructors to teach Trauma Treatment and Crisis Intervention and Child/Adolescent Development and Psychotherapy fall semester (8/13/2026 - 12/10/2026). This course is being offered in person and on campus. Preferred applicants will have graduate teaching experience in psychology. In addition to the course, the instructor is expected to be available to students as needed, including a minimum of one hour of office hours held weekly on campus or remotely.
Trauma Treatment and Crisis Intervention provides a comprehensive exploration of trauma and crisis intervention strategies, theories, and techniques. Grounded in current research and evidence-based practices, this course equips students with the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively assess, intervene, and support individuals who have experienced trauma and crisis situations. Emphasis is placed on understanding the impact of trauma on mental health and developing skills to provide effective intervention and support. The course will meet weekly on Tuesday evening.
Child/Adolescent Development and Psychotherapy provides an in-depth exploration of the psychological, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children and adolescents from infancy through late adolescence/early adulthood. Students will gain insights into how developmental stages impact behavior and mental health. Emphasis will be placed on the development of therapeutic approaches and interventions that are consistent with these developmental factors and influences. The course will meet weekly on Thursday evening.
