Job Description:
The Department of Psychology in the Cook-Cole College of Arts & Sciences invites applicants for a full-time lecturer to begin August 2026.
Face-to-face teaching is the primary professional responsibility. The teaching load of 15 credit hours per semester of undergraduate courses will include introductory psychology and life span courses, with opportunities available for teaching lower-level and upper-level courses in the area of expertise. The area of expertise is open. The lecturer is considered a full member of the department, with voting rights at faculty meetings and opportunities to participate in the life of the department through involvement with academic advising and/or undergraduate research.
This position is located in Farmville, Virginia, and is required to work in person on Longwood University’s campus.

Requirements:
Candidates should possess a Master's degree in Psychology. ABD or PhD in Psychology preferred.
All candidates should have demonstrated college teaching ability and a demonstrated commitment and ability to work with a diverse group of students, faculty, staff, and constituents in support of the university mission.
Additional Information:
This is a full-time, non-tenure-track, instructional faculty position. Salary will be $52,000. A successful fingerprint-based criminal background investigation is required. AmeriCorps, Peace Corps, and other national service alumni are encouraged to apply.
