Adjunct Faculty, Music Business (Catalog Music Marketing)
Description
The Hofstra College of Liberal Arts & Sciences is pleased to invite applications for an Instructor in the Department of Music at Hofstra University. The Department of Music welcomes applications from candidates with professional and academic experience in music industry studies, with particular emphasis on artist development, heritage artist careers, digital and catalog marketing, and contemporary music business practices.
The Instructor’s responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Teaching an undergraduate course focused on the professional career of a heritage recording artist within the music industry.
- Delivering weekly lectures, featuring special guests, that examine key aspects of an artist’s career, including creative, legal, and commercial considerations.
- Guiding students through a hands-on, project-based learning experience in which they conceptually design and execute promotional strategies for a track from the artist’s forthcoming reissue release on various digital platforms.
- Supporting efforts to create a diverse, equitable, and inclusive environment for faculty, staff, and students.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- And/or equivalent professional experience working in the music industry, music marketing, and catalog music marketing
- Successful candidates will have demonstrated a commitment to promoting equity, diversity, and inclusion in an educational environment.
