Position Summary:

Moraine Park Technical College is seeking an Adjunct Faculty - Nursing Instructor, on our West Bend campus. The primary teaching responsibility will be leading clinicals in the Nursing program, however, class assignments and locations may vary from term to term. This instructor may be asked to teach at various sites within the Moraine Park District to include campus, center and business locations, and may be required to teach on evenings and weekends. This person reports to the Associate Dean of Health.

The successful candidate will have a Master's degree in Nursing, or must expect to graduate from a Master's Degree in Nursing program within one year. Two years (4,000 hours) of paid work experiences related to the program(s) being taught, including one year (2,000 hours) of paid work experience that has been acquired within the past five years. In lieu of this one year of recent experiences, two years of post-secondary teaching experience in the appropriate occupational field within the past five years may be considered. (Two years of post-secondary teaching experience means eight semesters of part-time teaching or four semesters of full-time teaching at an accredited institution.)

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare for and facilitate learning in the assigned courses according to the College’s core values. Establish a professional and safe learning environment. Set the classroom tone by modeling appropriate workplace skills and behavior. Maintain a positive climate for learning by performing classroom management and being aware of, monitoring, and enforcing the Student Code of Conduct.
  • Meet student learning needs by incorporating a variety of teaching methods and assessments.
  • Maintain student confidentiality, records, and documentation as required by Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). Submit grades within the expected timeframe.
  • Provide timely verbal and written feedback to the students to ensure continued growth and development.
  • May participate in the development, implementation, evaluation, and updating of curriculum.
  • Assist with student recruitment and positively promote the College programs and services offered.
  • Promote retention and student success through the utilization of referrals to College services and resources.
  • Maintain ongoing relationships with K-12, Department of Corrections (DOC), community, and industry partners beyond the classroom.
  • Actively maintain proficient knowledge and skills in emerging trends and current occupational practices. Complete annual professional development activities in areas of Faculty Quality Assurance Standards (FQAS) competencies. Complete all required training.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience & Qualifications:

Unencumbered State of Wisconsin Registered Nurse (RN) license. Must be in good standing with clinical placements. Experience with all of the following job duties: Nursing assessment of the health status of the patient; Develop a nursing plan of care for the patient which includes goals and priorities derived from the nursing diagnosis; Evaluation of nursing care; Directly administer nursing care or direct and supervise Registered Nurses and Licensed Practical Nurses, Nursing Assistants, and unlicensed patient caregivers in giving care. Upon hire, must maintain and/or obtain Higher Learning Commission, Faculty Quality Assurance System, and other agency requirements and licensure required to maintain individual and program accreditation, if applicable. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse populations by promoting and maintaining an inclusive work environment and culture that is respectful and accepting of diversity.

Desired Qualifications:

Demonstrated ability to speak and write in English and Spanish in professional settings.

Other Position Requirements:

Must satisfactorily complete health screen requirements, which may include criminal and caregiver background checks, drug test and/or verification of immunizations. Flexible scheduling may be required to include evenings and weekends. This position may require teaching and/or travel to other MPTC campus locations, client/contract work sites, and/or Department of Corrections (DOC) institutions. Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Hiring Range:

Adjunct pay rates may vary between $39.85 - $43.99/hour based on course configuration.

Starting:

October 17, 2025.

Hours:

Approximately 12 hours per week.
