QUALIFICATIONS JOB DESCRIPTION
The Department of Music at Harper College invites applications for an adjunct position in applied instruction. Candidates should possess expertise in piano performance and pedagogy. The faculty member selected will be expected to conduct and teach students in 100 and 200-level applied instruction lessons in piano on both the credit and community education side of the Music Department. Other responsibilities can include directing and/or developing ensembles that are academically beneficial and relevant to our community of students, and various departmental responsibilities including advising, outreach and recruitment.
Starting Pay Rate: $55 per hour of instruction
Responsibilities of the position:
- Teach both credit and community education students in 100 and 200-level applied instruction lessons in Piano.
Education Requirements: Master’s degree in music or equivalent with demonstrated pedagogical skills and extensive experience as a performing professional musician or equivalent.
Experience Requirements: Preference will be given to applicants who have previous experience teaching at the secondary and/or college levels.

ABOUT THE TEAM
The Liberal Arts division provides transfer ready courses to students in the areas of English, humanities, language, linguistics, communication and philosophy.
