Adjunct Faculty, Pickleball
Position Summary:
The Health and Wellness Department is seeking adjunct faculty to teach credit pickleball activity courses within the department curriculum. These courses are taught every semester and may vary with regard to time and days each semester.
The successful applicant for this job will teach the equivalent of 1-9 credit hours per semester in the HPER department. This person will perform other duties expected of adjunct faculty, including collaborating and working successfully with other full-time and adjunct faculty in the HPER department and other duties as assigned. Teaching assignments could be day, evening, or weekend courses, and hybrid or on-line and are subject to change as needed.
Additional responsibilities include: Participate in the planning and administration of all departmental initiatives. Participate in on-campus events promoting health and wellness. Complete on-line departmental training as needed.
Required Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Physical Education, Sports Management or related field with at least 18 graduate credit hours in the field.
- Successful knowledge of activity being taught.
- Certification in coaching pickleball.
- Ability to successfully manage classroom instruction of 10- or 16-week undergraduate activity courses.
- Knowledge of on line management systems.
- Prior teaching experience or equivalent classroom knowledge of subject matter.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to manage a classroom setting.
- Ability to keep accurate records of student's work.
- Strong communication skills.
- Experience in Canvas or other Learning Management System.
