Adjunct Faculty, Religious Studies
Position Description
The Department of Religion and Philosophy seeks instructors to teach undergraduate courses in religious studies on a rolling, per course basis. Possible courses include our first-year course, The Nature and Experience of Religion, and upper-level courses in the Catholic intellectual tradition, non-Christian traditions, and the relationship between religion and culture. For consideration, candidates must have completed a Master's degree in Religious Studies or Theology. Excellence in and commitment to teaching is the key factor for consideration. This is an in-person, on-campus, non-remote position.
Job Responsibilities
- Prepare syllabus for assigned course
- Provide instructional content for the assigned courses
- Ensure active participation and engagement of students
- Support a diverse and inclusive learning environment
- Adhere to the University's mission and values, submit grades on time and otherwise comply with related requests from the chair
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Religious Studies, Theology, or a related field required; doctorate preferred
- Preference will be given to candidates with proven teaching excellence
Supplemental Information
Salary Range Based on Experience:
- Instructor $1477.28 per credit
- Assistant Professor $1526.25 per credit
- Associate Professor $1575.65 per credit
- Professor $1625.04 per credit
