Pay is $1,304 per credit hour, subject to increase after July 1, 2026

GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:

Kirkwood Community College welcomes applicants for the position of adjunct instructor to teach in various disciplines at the college throughout the year. Please complete this application to share your educational certification and professional experiences. You will be contacted if your credentials match the criteria for an opening within our department.

Currently we are seeking to receive applications for the following disciplines:

  • Finance (this course will be at the Kirkwood Regional Center at the University of Iowa (Coralville) for fall 2026. The section will meet Monday/Wednesday from 7:30 AM - 9:00 AM).

Previous successful college-level teaching preferred. Employment offer is contingent upon satisfactory results on criminal background check and receiving official transcripts. Kirkwood welcomes, values, and nurtures people of all backgrounds, perspectives and experiences. AA/EEO Employer.

Adjunct faculty positions are temporary, part-time positions scheduled intermittently based on institutional need. Adjuncts are not guaranteed work in any semester and are notified of course assignments prior to each term as courses become available.

Position involves working in a classroom setting. Occasional (10-33%) sitting, pushing, pulling and grasping. Frequent (34-66%) reaching and viewing a computer and other types of close visual work. Constant (67-100%) standing, walking, repetitive motion, talking and hearing.
