Adjunct French Horn Teacher
General Description
Salary: Hourly rate of $40-$50 for private instruction, $50-$62.50 for group instruction. The Peabody Preparatory is pleased to announce an Adjunct French Horn teaching position in the Winds, Brass, and Percussion Department at the Peabody Preparatory, a division of the Peabody Institute of The Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, MD, commencing as soon as possible. Candidates should be experienced in teaching students of all ages and levels (beginner to advanced) as part of the Peabody Preparatory's growing Winds, Brass, and Percussion Department. Candidates should be comfortable teaching both private lessons and chamber music for instrumentalists of all ages.
Duties
- Teach French Horn lessons to beginner and advanced students of all ages.
- Participate in annual professional development as needed.
- Assist with end-of-semester performances, attend faculty meetings, substitute teach as needed.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in music and or music education required. Master's degree or equivalent experience and training preferred. Documented successful teaching experience required. While department emphasis is on classical technique and repertoire, candidates with training in jazz and popular styles are welcome and encouraged.
