Adjunct Instructor - Acupuncture

Position Description Summary/Purpose
The UB Acupuncture Institute invites applications for adjunct instructors in our graduate MS-Acupuncture and Doctor of Acupuncture with Chinese Herbal Medicine programs. We have several openings for part-time faculty with expertise in TCM herbs and clinical supervision with Spanish speaking skills. These positions are generally appointed on a semester-by-semester basis.
Essential Job Functions/Primary Responsibilities
- Teaching 1-2 clinical shifts under the supervision of the Acupuncture Institute Clinical Chair; Clinical supervision is on campus in Bridgeport, CT
- Teaching online or hybrid courses in TCM material medical and formulae
- Teaching schedule may include days, evenings and/or weekends; teaching maybe online or hybrid
- Conducts all work in a safe manner and all work safety practices are followed.
Other Functions
- Performs similar or related work as required, directed or as situation dictates.
- Continues professional development and training; keeps current with trends.
- Assists other department staff as needed to promote a team effort.
Knowledge, Ability and Skill
- Demonstrated commitment to developing and fostering best practices and policies to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion, and build an environment in which all members of the University community are treated with respect and dignity.
- Teaching experience with recent clinical teaching experience in an academic setting
- Clinical supervisory experience
- Clinical Spanish language skills preferred
Qualifications
Minimum Required Qualifications
- Degree or diploma in Acupuncture/Chinese medicine; doctoral level degreed preferred
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience as a clinical acupuncturist
- Ability to demonstrate effectiveness in working with diverse populations
Education, Training and Experience
- Degree or diploma in Acupuncture/Chinese medicine; doctoral level degreed preferred
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience as a clinical acupuncturist
- NCCAOM diplomate status, Oriental Medicine preferred
- Current CPR card
Special Requirements
- Current Acupuncture licensure in the State of CT
