Fort Valley State University, the only 1890 land-grant university in Georgia, is a comprehensive institution that provides an education to over 2,800 students including graduate students. The university is located in the town of Fort Valley in Peach County, the original site of the state's peach industry. Its 1,365-acre (5.52 km2) campus is Georgia's second-largest public university in area.
JOB SUMMARY
This announcement is to assist in the building a pool of candidates for upcoming adjunct (part-time) opportunities within the Chemistry Program in the Department of Natural and Computational Sciences. Currently, we are recruiting for adjunct faculty to teach courses in General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Biochemistry, Physical Science, and any additional courses as needed by the program. Courses will be offered in in-person, hybrid, and/or online modalities.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Teach undergraduate level Chemistry and related courses and labs in an in-person, online, or hybrid format. Teach courses as assigned by the Department Chair and maintain University policies.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Master's Degree in Chemistry or related discipline. Ability to successfully pass a background check. Excellent analytical, oral, and written communication skills and teamwork. 2-3 years of experience at the University level.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Prior experience in teaching General Chemistry I and/or II, Principles of Chemistry I and/or II, Organic Chemistry I and/or II, Biochemistry, and their associated labs.
