Adjunct Instructors are responsible for the facilitation of student learning and the on-going development of instructional strategies that promote student success.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Learning Facilitation - Foster student learning by developing appropriate instructional strategies to meet diverse student needs and support student engagement.
- Assessment - Assess student learning and provide regular feedback to help students be successful.
- Curriculum Development - Develop and continually revise curriculum and instructional materials that are competency-based, current, consistent with employer expectations.
- Classroom Management - Fulfill assigned schedule, maintain accurate student attendance and grade records.
- Team Participation - Support the college by engaging in division, department and team activities.
- Business & Community Engagement - Build and maintain ongoing relationships with community, industry, and clinical partners.
- Student Success & Support - Serve as an advocate for students and engage in activities that help students reach their goals.
- Professional Development - Continually improve knowledge and skills in emerging trends, current occupational practices, and teaching through professional development activities.
Minimum Qualifications
Education and/or Experience Requirements:
- Associate degree or the degree/licensure level at which the adjunct instructor is teaching at minimum (Bachelor's degree preferred).
- Minimum of two (2) years full-time (or 4,000 total hours if part-time) of occupational experience.
- Teaching or training experience is desirable.
Licenses, Certifications, and Other Requirements:
- Proficiency utilizing learning management system.
- Strong verbal communication skills.
Work Environment
Work may be performed in a classroom, online, outdoors, in person, hybrid, or virtual environment.
Physical Requirements
Mobility, standing and sitting, lifting and carrying, speech and hearing, fine motor skills, visual acuity, health and safety, communication.
Additional Information
Hourly pay rate: $45.00 per hour. Adjunct instructors are hired on a per-course basis. Will accept applications on an ongoing basis.
