Adjunct Instructor: Environmental Earth Science, Fall 2025

Champlain College is seeking an experienced instructor to teach Environmental Earth Science (SCI 150) for the Fall 2025 semester. This 4-credit course runs August 25 - December 12, 2025.

Applicants should live within commuting distance of the Burlington, VT campus. Classes will be held on campus in Burlington, Vermont.

Course Schedule: SCI 150-51

  • Lecture: Tuesdays, 5:30 - 8:15 pm
  • Lab: Wednesdays, 5:30 - 7:30 pm

Course Overview:

Introduces the student to the main elements of the earth systems, and analyzes the effects of human interactions with these systems. Emphasis will be given to surface phenomena and to the application of the scientific method to current environmental issues. Course includes two laboratory hours per week.

Job Requirements:

  • Master's degree minimum in Environmental Science or related field
  • Experience teaching Environmental Science and/or Earth Science
  • Experience with online learning management systems preferred

Compensation:

Compensation for new Adjunct Instructors teaching a 4-credit course is $6,590. This total is paid bi-weekly over the fall semester. Instructor rates are established through our Adjunct Instructor Agreement with SEIU.

The successful completion of a criminal background check is required as a condition of employment.
