Tarleton State University invites applications for the position of Adjunct Instructor - Geology in the Department of Chemistry, Geoscience, and Physics. These part-time Adjunct Faculty positions support the 2025-2026 Academic Year at the Stephenville campus. Successful candidates may teach up to six (6) semester credit hours, delivering instruction in person or through approved modalities, hold office hours, and provide student support.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver lectures, seminars, and/or laboratory offerings to undergraduate and/or graduate students.
- Develop course syllabi, select instructional materials, and design assessments.
- Assess student performance and provide timely feedback.
- Engage students in active learning and foster critical thinking.
- Provide academic support through office hours and mentoring.
- Adhere to university policies and accreditation requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Earned master's degree in Geology or a closely related field from an accredited university with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in the teaching discipline.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
Preferred Qualifications
- Earned doctorate/terminal degree in Geology or a closely related field.
- Previous online teaching experience at the collegiate level.
