Summary

The Department of Health Administration is seeking a qualified adjunct instructor to teach the HADM 663 course for the Spring 2026 semester. HADM 663: Reducing Health Disparities helps students understand the health care landscape through the lens of current and historical events that have impacted minority populations’ access to care. The course emphasizes social determinants of health and the impact of policy and organizational decisions, with students analyzing real cases and proposing practical, equity-focused solutions.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• Advanced degree in health administration, business, or equivalent and experience in academic student success and/or teaching experience at the graduate level.
• Teaching experience in health equity/health disparities.
• Experience using Canvas LMS.
• Demonstrated ability to work in and foster an environment of respect, professionalism and civility with a population of faculty, staff, and students from all backgrounds and experiences, or a commitment to do so as an adjunct faculty member at VCU.

Preferred Qualifications

• Terminal degree in health administration, business, or related fields.
• Experience in healthcare management and policy.
• Experience in health disparities (e.g., research, program implementation, or practice-based work).
• Experience with in-person and online modalities.
