Adjunct Instructor in Architectural Professional Practice
We are looking for an Adjunct Instructor to teach a graduate level course in design leadership and professional practice. The candidate will have licensure to practice architecture in the United States with experience in design leadership, construction, and professional practice.
The course is intended to expose students to the practice of architecture; including the fundamental business processes relevant to the profession, professional ethics, related regulatory requirements, and the forces influencing change in these areas. The course must ensure students understand the paths to becoming licensed as an architect in the United States, the range of available career opportunities that utilize the discipline's skill and knowledge, and the expanded and emerging territories in which architects operate. The course will emphasize creative and critical thinking in design leadership and practice.
This course is typically taught for a total of 3 hours each week.
CMU's two-year M.Arch is a NAAB accredited professional degree program that integrates ethical considerations into architectural practice, framing design as a political and social act, preparing students to be leaders who shape a more equitable and sustainable built environment.
