Rate of Pay
Music courses: $650/ELU for non-terminally prepared instructors and $750/ELU for terminally prepared instructors per term. Graduate-level courses may be higher. Applied Music Lessons: $60 per hour, including studio and jury participation.
Position Description
Individuals will teach courses in Music, including Applied Music Lessons. The Music Department develops students' creative abilities for performance, teaching, and community music making. Applicants should have a terminal degree in music; a master's degree may be considered with experience. Willingness to teach online is desirable.
Minimum Qualifications
For Adjunct Instructor: Master's or terminal degree in the discipline, or Bachelor's plus equivalent professional experience; demonstrated teaching potential; familiarity with required equipment.
For Adjunct Assistant Professor: Terminal degree or Master's with progress toward terminal degree; demonstrated teaching potential.
Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching, scholarship, and institutional participation.
Duties
Primary responsibility is teaching, including preparation, instruction, assessment, and student advising. May include professional development and service activities.
Special Conditions
Teaching assignments may include online/hybrid courses, various campuses, and different times. Must pass background check and comply with FLSA and other policies.
