"Adjunct Instructor of Art, Beginning Fall Semester 2025 (POOL POSTING)"

Ohio University is seeking part-time adjunct instructors to teach in-person Art courses at the undergraduate level at its Regional Campuses, including Chillicothe, Eastern (St. Clairsville), Lancaster, Southern (Ironton), and Zanesville. Online options may also be available.

Job Description: Instructors will teach ART 1100: Seeing and Knowing the Visual Arts, an introduction to perceiving and understanding meanings and organizational systems in traditional and contemporary visual arts in the context of their social and cultural backgrounds. Learning outcomes include examining diverse perceptual points of view, demonstrating synthesis, analysis, and evaluation skills, and developing the ability to perceive and understand visual arts.

Positions involve teaching 3 to 11 credit hours per term. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a criminal background check and is dependent on enrollment and staffing needs.

Minimum Qualifications: MFA in a discipline of visual art or a Master's degree in Art and Design or a closely-related field, with experience teaching students and using technology for teaching.

Preferred Qualifications: MA or PhD in Art History or Cultural Studies.
