Adjunct Instructor - School of Nursing
Job Description
Reporting to the Dean of Nursing and the Prelicensure Nursing Program Director, Adjunct Clinical Faculty play a vital role in the education of our students. This individual is responsible for the clinical education of Pre-licensure BSN and/or Pre-licensure MSN nursing students. Adjunct Clinical Faculty are responsible for evaluating the clinical experience of the students and grading of all clinical assignments. The adjunct clinical faculty will work closely with the course lead to ensure that the clinical learning objectives are met.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Clinical instruction of the assigned group(s) of students in the clinical sites and the Simulation Center.
- Attends hospital orientation before the start of clinical.
- Orient students to the clinical unit.
- Select appropriate learning experiences for the assigned student group(s), i.e., client/patient assignments and planning clinical conferences, pre- and post-conferences.
- Instruct, observe, assess, guide, and remediate students' performance.
- Evaluate students’ clinical performance weekly and provide verbal and written feedback, as needed, on an individual basis.
- Maintain effective, ongoing communication with the course instructor concerning student progress and/or concerns.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Master’s Degree in Nursing
- Active New Jersey RN License
- Current Certification in CPR
- Experience teaching at the baccalaureate and master's levels
Preferred:
- Certification in area of specialization
- Simulation experience
- Minimum of 3 years of recent/relevant clinical experience.
