Compensation for under 5 credits is $1,650 per semester credit. Those teaching more than five credits are temporary part-time employees and can move to the faculty salary schedule.
This adjunct position will remain open for 1 year to allow departments access to candidate pools when there is a need to hire an adjunct to teach a course(s) during defined academic semester(s).
ABOUT THE POSITIONS AND THE STEM PROGRAMS AT NORMANDALE: Normandale Community College is seeking Adjunct Instructors to join our STEM Departments. The STEM departments include: Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Computer Technology, Engineering, Geology, Mathematics, and Physics.

Minimum Qualifications: Master's degree with a major in the STEM field you are applying for or Master's degree with a minimum of 18 graduate semester credits (27 graduate quarter credits) in STEM field you are applying for.
Preferred Qualifications: Coursework beyond the Master’s degree; Post-secondary teaching experience; Experience serving diverse and underserved populations; An understanding of the community college mission and its unique population; Experience in online learning and/or course delivery using web-based course management systems such as D2L; Experience in using innovative teaching and learning approaches; Experience providing specific strategies to create a sense of belonging within the classroom; Experience teaching courses with innovative teaching practices to support the success and retention of underrepresented students, including students of color, first-generation students, and Pell eligible students; Evidence of continuous professional development related to diversity, equity, and inclusion; Demonstrated commitment to collegial activities - service on committees, developing assessment, and guiding students.
