Adjunct Lecturer, First Year Writing
Job Description Summary
The Department of English & Media Studies invites applications for future adjunct positions to teach our first-year writing class, Critical Reading and Writing, typically offered in the fall semester. The course emphasizes reading and writing across contexts.
Courses meet in person, and preference will be given to candidates with an appropriate terminal degree and facility in the use of information technology in the classroom. A record of excellent teaching at the college level is essential.
Minimum Qualifications:
Successful applicants will hold a Master's, doctoral, or other relevant graduate degree, or are a current doctoral candidate.

Salary Range:
Compensation for adjunct faculty is governed by the collective bargaining agreement between Bentley University and the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) Local 509.
For the 2025–26 academic year, adjunct faculty are compensated at a rate of $7,225.00 per course.
Courses with labs and other four-credit courses shall will be compensated at a higher minimum rate of $9,333.00 per course.
