Adjunct Lecturer or Assistant Professor - Automotive Technology

FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT The Automotive Technology Program of the Engineering, Physics & Technology Department of Bronx Community College/ CUNY seeks experienced adjunct instructors to teach one or more of the following subject areas: Introduction to Automotive Technology, Engine Repair, Electrical Systems, Brake Systems, Steering and Suspension Systems, Heating and Air Conditioning, Automatic Transmission and Transaxle, Manuel Drive Train and Axle, Engine Performance, Hybrid and Electric Vehicles, Diesel Engines, and Air Brake and Suspension. The assignments will be for Fall 2026 beginning on August 26, 2026. Courses may be taught in the day, evening or the weekend. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Qualifications: For Adjunct Lecturer: Bachelor's degree in area(s) of expertise, and the ability to teach successfully. For Adjunct Assistant Professor: Ph.D. degree in area(s) of experience or equivalent, and the ability to teach successfully. Minimum of 5 years of automotive service experience Minimum of 1 year teaching experience in the automotive field New York State Inspectors License Have documented Electric Vehicle service and safety training Master Automotive Service Excellence certification within 6 months of employment Preferred Qualifications: For Adjunct Lecturer: A Master's degree in a related field and current ASE certifications may be considered. Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience, especially at the college level is highly desirable Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Required within 3 months of employment COMPENSATION Salary is commensurate with education and experience: Adjunct Lecturer: $112.50 per hour Adjunct Assistant Professor: $120.83 per hour CUNY offers faculty a competitive compensation and benefits package covering health insurance, pension and retirement benefits, paid parental leave, and savings programs.
