Background of the recruitment and description of the project
The Institute for the Liberal Arts at Doshisha University offers a four-year liberal arts degree program. The program features small classes all conducted in English.
Currently, we are looking for an adjunct lecturer to teach the following course in the Spring semester 2027:

Course name「The Creative Industries in Contemporary Japan」
This intermediate-level course examines Japan's creative industries—including art, design, music, performing arts, film, animation, games, publishing, and related digital media—from an economic and business perspective. Lecturers should introduce the structure and distinctive characteristics of these industries, their contribution to economic development, relevant government policies, and the marketing and business strategies used by major firms.
The course should also address key challenges, such as intellectual property, globalization, digital transformation, platform economies, labor conditions, cultural policy, and the balance between commercial success and artistic value. Lecturers are expected to use case studies from Japan and other countries to help students critically analyze industry structures, market developments, policy issues, and business strategies in the creative economy.
