The Department of Nursing at North Carolina Wesleyan University is seeking qualified, student-centered professionals for the position of Adjunct Nursing Clinical Faculty. These part-time positions are responsible for supervising nursing students in clinical settings and facilitating the integration of theory into practice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and evaluate nursing students in assigned clinical settings.
- Facilitate safe, evidence-based patient care practices.
- Provide timely, constructive feedback to students through formative and summative evaluations.
- Collaborate with course faculty and clinical site staff to ensure clinical learning is consistent with course and program learning outcomes.
- Evaluate student performance using established clinical evaluation tools.
- Ensure compliance with program policies, accreditation standards, and clinical agency requirements.
- Attend required faculty meetings and training sessions.
- Participate in program evaluation and quality improvement processes.
- Participate in reporting to maintaining compliance with NCBON regulations and accreditation standards.
Qualifications:
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) required.
- Master's degree in Nursing (MSN) or Doctorate in Nursing or related field preferred.
Licensure & Certification
- Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of North Carolina.
- Certification in nursing education (e.g., CNE) preferred.
Experience
- Minimum 3-5 years of clinical nursing experience.
- Prior teaching experience in clinical nursing education preferred.
- Experience with clinical coordination and healthcare partnerships preferred.
- Seeking candidates with strong background in medical-surgical, critical care, public health, pediatric, and maternal nursing.

- Strong clinical expertise and procedural proficiency.
- Excellent organizational and coordination skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to foster collaborative relationships with healthcare partners.
- Proficiency in educational technology and learning management systems.
- Commitment to student-centered teaching and inclusive learning environments.
This is an adjunct position for clinical supervision assignments in the traditional prelicensure BSN program.
Position(s) are contingent upon funding.
