Job Description
Adjunct Nursing - Medical/Surgical position in the Academics Department, College Wide campus.
Additional Information: If you are a PSERS retiree, employment as an adjunct faculty member will suspend your retirement benefits. Clinical Instruction pay rate: $35.95/hr. Seeking daylight, evening, and weekend lab and clinical assignments. Applicants must attach unofficial transcripts.
Work Hours: Days and hours vary according to class schedule and needs of the College and Department.
Salary Grade: Per Contract.
Job Category: Adjunct/Faculty.
Employment Type: Adjunct Part-Time.
General Summary: Primary responsibilities include teaching and curriculum development. Faculty must stay updated on advances in their disciplines, learning theory, and pedagogy. Faculty portfolios should show contributions to program development and ongoing professional development.
Requirements: Clinical/Lab Adjunct Faculty: Current PA RN license; Master's in Nursing preferred or Bachelor's in Nursing with active pursuit of a Master's; minimum three years of clinical experience within the past five years, and minimum one year of critical care experience in the past three years. Applicants should have strong communication skills, post-secondary teaching experience, work experience in the discipline, and knowledge of industry-related software. Degrees must be from an accredited institution.
Duties:
- Teach and develop curriculum. Prepare course outlines, develop and measure learning outcomes, assess student performance, and maintain grade records.
- Create effective learning environments using various instructional methods.
- Collaborate in developing and assessing learning outcomes for program reviews and curriculum revision.
- Work with faculty to complete program reviews and revise curriculum based on findings.
- Participate in professional development to maintain currency in discipline and instructional methods.
- Participate in department, division, campus, and college meetings and committees.
- Participate in college projects, surveys, studies, and reports related to the discipline or program.
- Collaborate in developing program and discipline promotional materials.
- Support the college's goals.
- Perform other related duties as required or assigned.
Clearances: Current criminal record and child abuse clearances required if offered the position.
