Adjunct Position in Graphic Design
Job Summary
The Adjunct Position in Graphic Design will teach 1-2 Graphic Design courses per semester as needed by the department. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to create graphic design work and effectively teach students graphic design. The candidate will work with students to develop their skills in the use of industry-standard software, including Adobe Creative Cloud apps and Macintosh platforms, success strategies, and professionalism in the field. Other possible responsibilities may be assigned by the department chair.

Minimum and Desired Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- MFA or 18 hours of graduate study in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or related field.
- Minimum of 18 hours of graduate study in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or related field.
- Ability to teach all levels of Graphic Design courses (1-2 per semester as needed by the department).
- Ability to use and teach industry-standard software, including Adobe Creative Cloud apps; knowledge of Macintosh platforms.
Desired Qualifications:
- Records of professional and creative accomplishment.
- Ability to teach digital and traditional media.
- Ability to teach Intro to Graphic Design, Typography, Brand, and Portfolio.
- One year of teaching experience in courses listed or related courses.
Key Competencies
- Ability to introduce students to and develop their skills in the use of industry-standard software, including Adobe Creative Cloud apps; knowledge of Macintosh platforms.
- Ability to teach and mentor students in professionalism in the field.
Physical Requirements
Able to lift 25 pounds, bending, stooping, squatting, stair climbing, and walking between buildings.
