Adjunct - Strategic Sports Projects
The Department of Marketing and Management within the Palumbo-Donahue School of Business Administration (SOBA) invites applications for adjunct faculty positions to teach an undergraduate capstone course on Strategic Sports Projects for sports marketing majors starting in the Spring of 2027. The Strategic Sports Projects course involves students working on a project for a client sports company. We seek an individual who brings practical as well as teaching experience to the classroom, contributing to the School’s mission of developing sought-after business leaders who possess the ethical character and solutions-oriented skills needed to be global difference makers.
Primary Responsibilities
- Teach a 3-credit in-person course: Strategic Sports Projects.
- Deliver high-quality instruction using innovative and inclusive pedagogical strategies. Prior year syllabi are available for guidance.
- With the assistance of SOBA’s Office of Corporate Relations and Community Partnerships, engage a client (sports) company for the capstone project and guide students in development and delivery of project deliverables.
- Assess student performance through assignments and exams.
- Collaborate with full-time faculty to ensure course content aligns with program goals and accreditation standards.
- Maintain availability for student consultation and support outside of scheduled class time.
- Promote the mission of the University.
Qualifications
- Relevant experience in the Sports Marketing industry
- Earned master’s degree in a relevant discipline
- Excellent project management and interpersonal skills
- Enthusiasm for working with students
Preferred:
- Prior college/university or professional teaching experience
