Our campus is located at 1601 Maple Street, Carrollton, GA 30118.
Faculty and staff members are expected to be physically present on campus as needed to support the in-person educational experience and on-campus vitality at the University of West Georgia. Depending upon teaching assignments and student demand, this could include the Carrollton or Newnan campuses.
Job Summary
The position will provide administrative support to faculty and staff. This position is the first point of contact for students and visitors. We provide a high level of customer service to all levels who come to our office. This position will assist faculty and staff with special projects that require an extensive degree of planning and coordination such as providing information for surveys, demographic reports, recruitment materials, book orders, desk copies, and course den support. Performs moderately complex administrative duties such as preparing correspondence, letters, manuscripts, and other documents. Prepare reports and spreadsheets for faculty and staff. Maintains moderately complex electronic databases and records for faculty, staff and students related to undergraduate and graduate programs and off-campus sites. Serves as liaison with internal and external organizations. Some duties include room scheduling for all classes, meetings and special events. Scheduling state cars for faculty for student supervision in clinical settings and teaching at off campus sites.
Responsibilities
- Front desk duties ' greet students and visitors (ascertain nature of business and direct them to appropriate faculty or staff). Customer service ' be able to exhibit customer friendly service skills and be knowledgeable, professional and courteous in meeting the needs of our students, faculty and staff. Performs routine but varied administrative duties in accordance with standard procedures. Inventories supplies and equipment; maintains service contracts with office equipment.

Required Qualifications
Required Education
High School Diploma
Required Experiance
Two to four year's administrative experience; or a combination of training, education and experience. Proficiency in computer applications (Microsoft Office 2007 or above and Databases) PC or Mac platforms. Maintains complex department and college databases, such as Banner, Filemaker Pro, etc. Need excellent organizational and time management skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Experience working in an academic setting preferred. Must maintain a safe and organized work area. Professional attire and proper hygiene appropriate for an office setting.
Preferred Qualifications
Higher education experience in an administrative staff position.
Proposed Salary
Salary is commensurate with experience.
