Administrative Assistant 1 - Department of Ophthalmology
Job Summary
Manage the department's student rotations including coordinating rotations, posting grades, and completing other duties required as part of the program. Provide administrative support for assigned faculty (no more than five and no less than two) which will include various duties including but not limited to coordinating travel, maintaining calendars, etc. Serve as receptionist for the department's front desk.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities to include, but are not limited to:
- Manage the department's student intern rotations including coordinating rotations, posting grades, and completing other duties required as part of the program.
- Coordinate travel and prepare travel expense statements for assigned faculty.
- Assist faculty by maintaining calendars by completing various tasks including but not limited to scheduling meetings and appointments, submitting leave requests, etc.
- Serve as receptionist for the MCG-Ophthalmology administrative suite by greeting guests, answering phones, monitoring fax machines for incoming documents, etc.
- Complete other duties assigned as necessary including but not limited to making copies for meetings, updating office signs, etc.
- Provide administrative support for assigned faculty (no more than five and no less than two) which will include various duties including but not limited to coordinating travel, maintaining calendars, etc.
Required Qualifications
Associate degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and a minimum of three years progressively responsible experience in administrative support positions. OR
High school diploma/GED from a recognized State or Federal accrediting organization and six years of progressively responsible experience in administrative support positions.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
KNOWLEDGE
Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases.
SKILLS
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Detail-oriented with strong organizational, prioritization and multi-tasking skills.
ABILITIES
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Shift/Salary/Benefits
Shift: Days; Monday - Friday (Work outside of normal business hours may be required). Salary: $15.77-$18.89 per hour. Pay Band: B2. Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position. Recruitment Period: Until Filled. Conditions of Employment
All selected candidates are required to successfully pass a Background Check review prior to starting with Augusta University. If applicable for the specific position based on the duties: the candidate will also need to have a credit check completed for Positions of Trust and or approved departmental Purchase Card usage. Motor vehicle reports are required for positions that are required to drive an Augusta University vehicle. For Faculty Hires: Final candidates will be required to provide proof of completed academic degree(s) as well as post-secondary coursework in the form of original transcript(s). Those candidates trained by a foreign institution will also be required to provide an educational/credential evaluation.
