The Administrative Assistant: Provides customer service to internal and external contacts; Schedules appointments for office staff; Maintains the office student files; Communicates using email and phone; Creates forms, letters and emails as needed; Provides administrative support to co-workers as needed. This position serves as the first line of communication with constituents using various modes of communication to include face to face, phone, and email. It is essential to clearly verbally communicate clearly, as well as listen and respond to requests according to the need. When necessary, will seek consultation with the appropriate staff or refer clients to the appropriate resource; Independently composes emails to the appropriate person which may require some research; Responds to email inquiries, which may require written explanation or interpretation of DSO policies and Procedures from the DRO website. Responsible for point of contact notes in the office database regarding contact with constituencies as necessary.
