Administrative Assistant III
Job Description Summary
Under direction of the Assistant Dean of Students, the Administrative Assistant III will facilitate the daily activities of the San Francisco Peninsula Campus (SFPC), and serve all SFPC students, faculty, staff, and guests. This position supports all campus operations, including admissions, recruitment, student services, and academic programs.
Duties and Responsibilities
- (60%) Administrative Support: As a first point of contact and representative of SMU, provide excellent service to all faculty, staff, students, and guests. Provide effective and timely communication. Implement administrative procedures. Utilize online/electronic systems. Provide staffing for events. Monitor supplies. Assist with opening and closing the campus.
- (40%) General Support: Assist faculty and staff with program-related activities. Collaborate on policies. Provide services for recruitment, payroll, and personnel actions. Other duties as assigned.
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to assist in budget development
- Ability to promote positive interactions
- Handle privileged information confidentially
- Excellent communication skills
- Skilled in typing, word processing
- Extensive computer experience with Word, Excel, Access
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma and formal secretarial training. Associate degree preferred. Minimum of three years experience as administrative support in a fast-paced, multi-task environment.
