Design, Wentworth Institute of Technology
The School of Architecture & Design (SoAD) at Wentworth
Institute of Technology invites applications for a full-time
Administrative Assistant position beginning
Fall 2026.
The Administrative Assistant serves as a primary point of contact
for the School, providing outstanding customer service and
administrative support to students, faculty, staff, alumni, and
external partners. This position plays a vital role in the daily
operations of the School and contributes to a collaborative,
student-centered environment.
Reporting to the School Operations Manager, the Administrative
Assistant works closely with the Dean's Office, Associate Dean,
Program Directors, faculty, and staff to support academic programs,
school operations, events, communications, and strategic
initiatives.

Wentworth’s School of Architecture and Design (SoAD) recognizes the
critical role its courses and curriculum play in fostering academic
success and addressing equity gaps. We seek new faculty to join a
community committed to teaching excellence, curricular innovation,
and mentoring of students. SoAD offers highly respected Bachelor of
Sciences degrees in Industrial Design (NASAD accredited), Interior
Design (CIDA accredited), Architecture, Master of Architecture
(NAAB accredited), and Building Sciences. The mission of the SoAD
is to empower design students and educators from all backgrounds to
become creative, civic-minded problem-solvers, responding to global
challenges and contributing to local communities. The SoAD guides
students to engage locally and globally, explore advanced
technologies, collaborate within and across disciplines, gain
industry experience via cooperative education, and learn to design
sustainably and equitably. The school comprises approximately 940
undergraduate and 100 graduate students, 34 full-time and
approximately 70 adjunct faculty, and 5 full-time staff. The Dean’s
office includes an associate dean, three program directors, a
program coordinator, an operations manager, and a director of
labs.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the first point of contact for students, faculty,
staff, and visitors, responding to inquiries and directing requests
appropriately.
Provide administrative support to the Dean, Associate Dean,
Program Directors, faculty, and graduate students.
Assist with graduate program administration, communications,
and events
Support the management of studio, classroom, and office spaces,
including scheduling and coordination.
Coordinate School events, including final reviews, exhibitions,
lectures, town halls, commencement-related activities, and other
community gatherings.
Coordinate the collection, cataloging, archiving, and
documentation of student work and maintain records of School events
and activities for future planning and historical archives.
Manage and update content for the School's website, digital
communications, and social media platforms.
Assist with the logistics of undergraduate semester
study-abroad programs, M.Arch Global Research Studios, faculty-led
travel, and other domestic and international student travel
experiences.
Support admissions and recruitment initiatives, including Open
Houses, Welcome Days, Pre-College programs, SummerFAB, and K–12
outreach activities.
Provide administrative support for School publications and
externally facing communications, including Making Masters,
the M.Arch thesis collection, and the Wentworth Design
Review.
Assist faculty with community engagement initiatives, industry
partnerships, and special projects.
Support data collection, reporting, and accreditation-related
activities as needed.
Perform other duties and special projects as assigned to
support the mission and strategic priorities of the School.

Minimum Education:
Minimum Work Experience:
- One to three years of experience in a customer service,
administrative, higher education, or comparable professional
environment.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, communication, and
customer service skills.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple
priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience coordinating events, managing projects, and
collaborating effectively with diverse teams.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and other
web-based communication and collaboration platforms.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a
collaborative, service-oriented team.
- Strong written communication skills and the ability to maintain
accurate records and documentation.
Preferred Education:
- Bachelor's degree in design, communications, or a related
field.
- Master's degree.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in higher education.
- Demonstrated interest in design or other creative
disciplines.
- Experience with website content management systems and social
media platforms.
- Demonstrated graphic design skills (Adobe Creative Suite,
Canva, or similar software).
- Familiarity with generative AI tools and their application to
communications, administrative workflows, and content
creation.
- Experience supporting events, exhibitions, or public
programs.
Position Details:
At this time, the university is unable to sponsor applicants for
H-1B visas.
The job grade for this position is Grade 3N.
The expected hourly range for this position is between $25.64 -
$29.74 which reflects what we reasonably expect to pay for this
role.
This position is a 37.5-hour work week schedule. This is an
in-person position that requires the incumbent to be on site daily.
This position is not eligible for remote work.
This position comes with a 10% retirement contribution .
