Job Description:
Summary:
The Student Administrative Assistant will assist the Program
Manager of the Center for Israel Studies in implementing the
projects and programs planned for the academic year. Students who
are looking to gain non-profit work experience and have an interest
in Israel, international affairs, public relations or non-profit
work are encouraged to apply.
Essential Functions:
- Creating promotional materials, assistance with department
events and lectures, social media management, event photography and
office administrative tasks.
Substantive work such as research, editing, data analysis, and
event planning (20+ events per year), as well as administrative
work.
Special projects will be created as they arise.
Other duties assigned.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
- Part-time.
- 5 hours per week.
Salary Range:
Required Education and Experience:
- Students must be dependable, organized, skilled at working with
Microsoft Word and Excel, and comfortable representing American
University and the Center at public events.
- The preferred candidate will have an active and available
Federal Work Study Award.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Prior office experience is helpful.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications:
- Hours for this position are flexible and may include evening
and weekend event support.
- Positions start at the beginning of the fall semester and
continue throughout the academic year concluding at the end of the
spring semester.
