JOB SUMMARY
Plans, coordinates and/or performs administrative, business management or support services activities.
JOB DUTIES
30% - Department Chair Administrative Support. Provides direct administrative support to the Department Chair, including general reception for the Art Office, calendar coordination, correspondence, meeting preparation, travel documentation, procurement support, and reimbursement processing. Maintains departmental calendars and contact lists, monitors shared email and phone communications, and assists with preparation of reports related to enrollment, workload, and planning. Serves as liaison with the Dean's Office and other university units to facilitate administrative processes.
25% - Chair & Department Operational Support. Coordinates and supports departmental operational, facility, fiscal and HR processes in partnership with centralized college or university offices. Assists with initial preparation of supplies and equipment purchasing, travel, and honoraria, budget monitoring, graduate assistant appointments, student hiring, student scholarships/grants processing, and leave reporting as applicable. Initiates and tracks facilities and technology service requests for department labs and classrooms, and department assets. Maintains compliance with university and state policies and procedures.
10% - Faculty & Accreditation Support. Provides administrative support for part-time or full-time faculty searches, tenure and promotion processes, visiting artists, lecture series, and special academic initiatives in the department and gallery. Coordinates travel arrangements and reimbursement documentation. Assists with accreditation, assessment, and program review documentation. Maintains faculty schedules and supports textbook coordination.
15% - Event & Office Management Support. Supports planning and coordination of departmental events, exhibitions, recruitment activities, advisory meetings, and special programs. Assists with space reservations, catering coordination, guest logistics, and event documentation. Supports daily office operations, including supervision and training of student workers.
20% - Academic & Student Support. Coordinates departmental course scheduling and registration processes in collaboration with the Chair, department leadership. Assists with room assignments, section management, overrides, and waitlists. Serves as initial contact for student inquiries and supports advising logistics in coordination with professional advisors. Liaises with the Graduate School to process required forms and supports graduate student administration. Maintains student records in accordance with university guidelines.

Minimum Requirements
A high school diploma and relevant experience in business management, public administration, or administrative services or a bachelor's degree may be substituted for the required work experience.

COMPENSATION INFORMATION
Expected Salary Range
50000 - 55000
Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson's compensation guidelines.
ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL LEVEL
Normal Operations - Required to follow emergency facility closure and modified operations directives, and not normally expected to work on-site during emergency situations.
