Job Summary/Basic Function
Job Summary: Provides administrative support to the Student Ombuds and Chief of Staff. The Administrative Coordinator will be responsible for completing and coordinating travel, purchase requisitions, and providing general support for the daily operations of the Office of the Student Ombuds.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provides administrative support and clerical duties in support of the Office of the Student Ombuds.
- Provides public reception, answers the telephone, and processes mail.
- Maintains records and budgets for the Office of the Student Ombuds.
- Makes travel arrangements, prepares itineraries, processes travel requisitions and reimbursements and coordinates purchases of goods and services.
- Provides administrative support for the Office of the Student Ombuds.
- Works with the Student Ombuds and Chief of Staff to administer programs and prepare reports.
- Reconciles monthly travel and business Procard expenditures.
- Assists in planning meetings and events.
- Interviews, hires, and supervises student workers.
- Maintains general filing.
- Performs routine clerical duties.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of computers and MS Office software.
- Knowledge of university systems, policies, and procedures.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently of direct supervision and maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to work under tight deadline pressure.
Minimum Qualifications
Associate’s degree in business administration, office systems technology, or closely related field, or three years of administrative experience including or supplemented by one year of office management experience.
