As an Administrative Officer supporting Professor Martha Hickey, you'll play a crucial role in facilitating groundbreaking research in women’s health. You'll gain invaluable experience managing complex administrative tasks, coordinating international research teams, and supporting high-level academic and clinical activities. This role offers you the chance to directly impact women's health outcomes while developing your skills in a supportive, values-driven environment.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Provide High-Level Administrative Support: Manage diaries, arrange travel, and assist with grant applications, publications, and presentations.
- Coordinate Research Activities: Support day-to-day operations of multiple research teams and facilitate international collaborations.
- Manage Stakeholder Communications: Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, handling sensitive information with discretion.
- Liaise with The Royal Women’s Hospital: Support Professor Hickey in her role as Head of the Menopause Services Unit.
- Assist with HR and Finance Tasks: Support administrative processes across both university and hospital systems.

You are a highly organised and detail-oriented professional with experience in executive administrative support possessing excellent communication skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic research environment.
You may also have experience working in a complex, service-oriented research or clinical setting, possess advanced computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office suite particularly PowerPoint and the ability to learn new systems quickly, such as AI, demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact professionally with diverse stakeholders, have experience in preparing reports, creating figures in programs such as Canva, and managing committee documentation, and be adaptable and innovative, with the ability to use new technologies to improve work efficiency.

The University Department of Obstetrics, Gynaecology, and Newborn Health plays a vital role in teaching MD medical students, with approximately 350 students spending 6 weeks each year in the department. The department's vision is to be a globally recognised centre of excellence in academic Obstetrics, Gynaecology, and Neonatal Paediatrics, with a mission to provide high-quality academic services in clinical, educational, and research activities, primarily in its major centres, the Royal Women's Hospital and the Mercy Hospital for Women. The department has a strong research focus in areas such as maternal fetal medicine, neonatal paediatrics, women's health, menopause, infectious diseases, gynaecological oncology, and reproductive biology.
