The College of Arts and Sciences is seeking (1) an experienced Administrative Specialist II
HERE IS WHAT YOU WILL DO
The ideal candidate for this position will report to the designated department chair. The Administrative Specialist II will be responsible for performing administrative duties by coordinating the daily operations of the Department of Center for Physics & Astronomy.
The essential duties and responsibilities of the Administrative Specialist II are the following:
- Provides administrative support to the department Chair and other departmental administrators
- Routes and tracks tasks to administrative and academic services
- Schedules department classroom and meeting spaces
- Assists with student engagement events as needed
- Coordinates student awards and scholarships within the department
- Coordinates equipment maintenance as needed
- Coordinates the department's internal control policies and procedures
- Supports social media as needed
- Supports department practicum/internship coordination as needed
- Supports data collection for the department as needed
- Supports department student originations as needed
- Assist the department's Directors of Graduate Studies with graduate research (GRA) and teaching (GTA) appointments
- Assists with the planning of meetings, conferences, and events
- Assists Department visitors
- Supervises student assistants
- Attends regular college wife meetings as needed
- Attend and take notes at Department meetings as needed
- Assists faculty and students with obtaining keys or swipe card access
- Performs other related duties as assigned by the supervisor
Anticipated Hiring Range: $43,100 - $51,800. Salary offers will be determined based on the candidate’s qualifications in relation to the Minimum Hiring Standards. Candidates earlier in their careers are typically offered salaries closer to the minimum of the hiring range, while those with more advanced or relevant experience may be considered for compensation at or above the hiring range.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree and two years of related experience; or high school diploma or GED and six years of related experience; or a combination of education and related experience.
