Primary Purpose of the Organization:
The Office of the Registrar exists to serve students, faculty, and administrators. Its primary functions are to maintain student records on each student each semester, oversee the processes of class scheduling and registration, re-enrollment, maintain the integrity and security of student academic records, protect the privacy of the students based on FERPA regulation, ensure the integrity of grade assignments, GPA calculations, transcript accuracy and print, an enrollment and; ensure the adherence to university policies in all issues related to student academic records; certify student enrollment; provide faculty, administrators, and Office of the President reports and statistical data reflecting student grades and enrollment; advise the faculty and administration about academic and curriculum revisions as needed.
Primary Purpose of the Position:
Serve as the Subject Matter Expert in the Bronco One Stop Office representing the Office of the Registrar by:
- Serve as a student service resource by assisting students with navigating university processes, locating institutional information, and accessing university website resources.
- Provide general to complex guidance related to Registrar policies, procedures, registration, graduation, and student records while making appropriate referrals when necessary.
- Serve as an active, engaged, and collaborative member of the One Stop team while participating on cross-functional committees and institutional initiatives as appropriate.
- Develop, manage, and maintain assigned operational procedures while supporting data integrity and process accuracy.
- Keep the One Stop team informed regarding integrated services, technology updates, process changes, procedural updates, and communication modifications impacting student service operations.
- Communicate with students, advisors, administrators, faculty, and staff to troubleshoot registration and graduation barriers and provide timely operational solutions for students.
- Serve as the Subject Matter Expert representing the Office of the Registrar within the Bronco One Stop (BOS).
- Coordinate and collaborate with campus partner offices, staff, and resources to support student success and service delivery.
Office of the Registrar Responsibilities
- Process student withdrawals, independent study requests, suspensions, enrollment verifications, course overload requests, and Academic Fresh Start requests;
- Generate alternate PINs for student registration support;
- Serve on the Academic Appeals Committee;
- Monitor and review the Office of the Registrar website and coordinate necessary updates to ensure accuracy and compliance;
- Process and respond to requests received through the FSURegistrar email account;
- Assist with additional operational duties as needed to support business and institutional needs.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalency and one year of related office experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
Knowledge skills and abilities:
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings and weekends, if necessary.
- Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written form.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with other offices.
- Ability to assess and find solutions to complicated technical issues.
- Ability to multi-task, follow through on assigned projects, and work in a fast-paced environment and as a team member.
- Must have interpersonal skills to work with students and employees from across the university community.
Preferred Qualifications:
Four-year baccalaureate degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Knowledge of Student Banner systems or similar student information systems, data entry skills, demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft products to include Word and Excel.
