This new part-time (0.5 FTE) post is available immediately in the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences.

Summary of the role
This role will provide general and specialist administrative support within the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) Applied Research Collaboration (ARC) South West. Key responsibilities for this role include providing colleagues and stakeholders with information relating to finance and budgets; communications and marketing; making travel, accommodation and room bookings, and arranging meetings and events (online and offline). The role requires strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work and communicate successfully with a broad range of stakeholders and audiences.

The post-holder will be expected to work flexibly and with initiative in an evolving environment, within a small but supportive team. Excellent numeracy and literary skills, as well as attention to detail and good time management are essential. This post is situated within the Project Support Team of the NIHR ARC South West. The team, which includes colleagues from the Universities of Exeter, Plymouth and Bristol, provides operational, programme management, administrative and communications support to the wider research group.

NIHR ARC South West is a large research group based across a number of organisations. We work closely with health and social care professionals, members of the public and local communities to address issues facing the health and care system through applied research and ensure the needs of our national populations are met.

At the University of Exeter, staff sit within the Departments for Health and Community Sciences and Public Health and Sport Sciences, in the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences.

NIHR ARC South West Project Support Team
This role is within the NIHR ARC South West Project Support Team. This is a team which provides support to all NIHR ARC South West researchers and affiliated partners. On a day-to-day basis the Administrator NIHR ARC South West will be managed by NIHR ARC South West Research Manager with input from NIHR ARC South West Senior Administrator and the Research and Communications Administrator.
