Admissions Advisor
The Office of Admissions seeks a full-time Admissions Advisor to play a key role in supporting the institution's enrollment goals. The primary responsibilities of this position include representing SUNY Fredonia to prospective students within a specific student population and/or region/territory designated by the Director of Admissions at college fairs, high school visits, community colleges, and school counselor program. An Admissions Advisor works to increase inquiries and convert applicants into enrolled students.  The position will review and make decisions on admissions applications, engage with students and families in various formats (in-person, virtually, email, etc.) to provide guidance and detailed information regarding admissions requirements, the application process, academic programs, residential life, financial aid, and all areas of the enrollment process. The Admissions Advisor creates and implements recruitment strategies to reach prospective students through events, referrals, online and print communications, and outreach to assigned populations. Some evening and weekend hours are required, as well as substantial travel is required in the fall and spring semesters.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review and render applications for admission for assigned population and territory. Coordinate and execute the full enrollment process for applicants from the point of inquiry to enrollment to include the development of recruitment initiatives, marketing strategies, and targeted communication.
- Visit key high schools and/or community colleges to meet in-person with prospective students and counselors; participate in college fairs and other relevant recruitment events. Provide detailed information on SUNY Fredonia's academic programs, residential life, student life, and financial aid programs during these interactions.
- Meet with prospective students and their families, both on and off campus, virtual and in-person, in both group settings and one-on-one appointments.
- Plan and execute a Recruitment Plan for the year that includes planning recruitment visits/fairs, communications to prospective students, and outlining the month-by-month recruitment plan for enrolling the targeted number of students from your territory.
- Provide excellent customer service through personalized guidance throughout the enrollment cycle to prospective students, parents, and counselors.
- Assist with other university and departmental enrollment projects, events, and initiatives.
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of all prospective student interactions, including inquiries, campus visits, and follow-up communications, within the CRM/admissions database.
- Actively participate in unit and university committees as assigned.

- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with diverse populations.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Ability to interact professionally with university faculty and staff, prospective students and their families, and other University admission personnel.
- Ability and skill to work independently, and as part of a designated team.
This is a full-time, SL-3, term appointed, position beginning in May 2026, with a salary of $57,151.
Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree.
- Computer skills: proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability and willingness to arrange and execute travel locally, regionally, and nationally for recruitment purposes. This will include travel by personal or rental vehicle, and various other forms such as airplane, train, cab, subway, etc.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Demonstrated commitment to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Demonstrated commitment and ability to work with a diverse group of students, faculty, staff and constituents in support of campus and department mission;
- Experience with instructional technology;
- Demonstrated commitment to the university, division, and profession.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Master's degree in a relevant field is preferred.
- At least 12 months of higher education admissions experience
- Knowledge of SUNY universities/colleges, Fredonia, and K-12 structures
- Experience using Slate or other admissions CRM
- Bilingual, Spanish speaking is desirable
- Interest in, and commitment to, community engagement.
