Admissions Outreach Intern - Temporary Worker
The Admissions Outreach Summer Intern supports the daily operations of the Admissions Outreach office through front desk support, event assistance, and project coordination. This role provides hands-on experience in higher education enrollment management and student services while helping prospective and current students navigate the enrollment process at Harper College.
The intern will work closely with the Manager, Coordinators, and Admissions Outreach team to provide excellent customer service, support recruitment initiatives, and assist with departmental projects and events.
- Provide front desk support by assisting students and guests in person, over the phone, and via email.
- Respond to general admissions and enrollment-related inquiries with professionalism and accuracy.
- Support daily operations and administrative projects within Admissions Outreach.
- Assist Coordinators with recruitment activities, communications, event preparation, and follow-up tasks.
- Help prepare materials and provide logistical support for campus events, information sessions, and outreach activities.
- Learn and communicate basic enrollment procedures, student resources, and next steps within the enrollment process.
- Identify student questions or concerns and connect students with appropriate campus offices and resources.
- Collaborate with Enrollment Services and campus partners including Admissions Processing, Financial Aid, Counseling, One Stop, and Academic Affairs.
- Participate in scheduled admissions and recruitment events, which may include occasional evening coverage.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Education: High School Diploma. Current college student or recent graduate interested in higher education, communications, student affairs, marketing, or related fields, preferred.
Experience: 1+ years' experience working in customer service, or student leadership experience required. Candidates should demonstrate:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Comfort interacting with diverse student populations, families, and campus partners.
- Strong organizational skills, dependability, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace applications.
