Position Summary
Wilberforce University is seeking a results-driven Adult Degree Program Recruiter with exceptional interpersonal skills, a deep commitment to the university's mission, and a strong understanding of the needs of adult learners. This position is responsible for guiding students from inquiry through enrollment, providing personalized support and promoting the institution's online learning options with professionalism and a deep understanding of adult and non-traditional learners.
Also serve as the primary point of contact for prospective online students through phone, email, text, video chat and other digital communication channels.
This position plays a pivotal role in identifying, recruiting, and enrolling qualified students into our adult degree and graduate degree programs. The successful candidate will manage a portfolio of prospective students, develop relationships with educational institutions, and work collaboratively with internal departments to ensure a seamless enrollment experience.
The Recruiter will work closely with the Vice President of Enrollment Management and a team of dedicated professionals to create a student-centered recruitment approach. This role requires a creative and enthusiastic individual who can foster relationships, effectively communicate the benefits of Wilberforce University’s programs, and drive enrollment growth.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Identify and recruit potential students for Wilberforce’s adult degree and graduate programs, including the RISE program.
- Develop and maintain relationships with community colleges, school districts, teacher education projects, and universities in Ohio and surrounding states.
- Coordinate and participate in recruitment events such as college fairs, information sessions, and community outreach activities.
- Communicate with prospective students via phone, email, and in-person meetings to provide information about program offerings and answer questions.
- Assist students through the application and enrollment process, ensuring clarity about program features and benefits.
- Collaborate with Enrollment Services (Financial Aid, Advising, and Student Success) and the Graduate School to support student enrollment and retention efforts.
- Track recruitment metrics, monitor progress, and report outcomes to management.
- Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in adult learner recruitment.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite; experience with CRM systems is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in education, marketing, or a related field; a master’s degree is preferred.
- At least 2 years of experience in student recruitment and enrollment, preferably in higher education.
- Experience in K-12 or community college education is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license and dependable vehicle for travel.
